Getting Married In the Wheatbelt?

Ben grew up in Toodyay and we moved back four years ago. We LOVE it here! It's such a beautiful region of WA and there's so many hidden gems we're constantly discovering.

When we moved here we noticed there seemed to be a lack of resources for wheatbelt couples to find wheatbelt based suppliers. It wasn't until I started up the Wheatbelt Weddings & Events Facebook page that I realised how many fantastic suppliers we have right here on our doorstep! From venues, celebrants, photographers, florists, stylists, HMUA and much more.

It wasn't long after this revelation I discovered a group of UBER talented ladies known as The Wheatbelt Collective. Founded by the lovely Angie Roe of Angie Roe Photography, Sarah and Holly from Confetti & Co and Sarah from Petallica Flower Co. This group of ladies, based in the Avon Valley, aims to provide both city and country brides with quality suppliers to choose from, when planning a wedding or event in a rural area.

The Wheatbelt Collective recently invited Swift Hound Films to be a part of an incredible styled shoot in York, WA. We were so excited to be able to network with some amazing vendors and create something beautiful and unique to really showcase some of the wonderful things the Wheatbelt region has to offer.

We met Nola at Faversham House, York which provided a perfect backdrop (and a beautiful cool room to get ready in, on a very hot, sticky day!).  And Jasmine Fowler for

her incredible hair and makeup work with the stunning model (#notamodel)!!, Ash, to create a natural, summery boho look.  And Kimberley from Blue Silk Design Studio for not only providing a stunning gown, but for tailoring it to Ash on the day.

Sue from Birdsnest Gallery of Old and New Things for all her gorgeous rustic knick

knacks for the table styling, and Angela from The Knotty Kiwi for her stunning

macrame backdrop, flower wrap, table runner and chair pieces.

And of course, to Sarah and Holly of Confetti & Co for providing the brief for a rustic, summery, vintage boho look, full of natural tones and pops of pink, peach and copper, and for their fabulous table and arbour styling on the day.  And to Sarah from Petallica Flower Co for all the beautiful blooms you see, and finally, to the very talented and equally lovely lady Angie Roe for her beautiful photos (make sure you head over to her BLOG and have a look!)

We feel genuinely lucky to have met and worked with all these amazing vendors and to be able to capture the raw beauty of the town of York. Here are a few quick pics we took and of course our highlights video of the day. I think you'll agree, there's really no need to go to Perth, or to source your suppliers from the city, when planning a wedding or event in the Avon Valley or Wheatbelt!
